Autumn Term message from Mrs Kelly:

Welcome to an exciting new school year in Year 3!

We are looking forward to a busy and inspiring term, full of new learning experiences. In History, we will be stepping back in time to explore the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age, discovering how people lived and how life changed through these fascinating periods. As part of our Science unit on Animals, including Humans, we will be visiting Blackpool Zoo to see first-hand how animals are cared for, and to deepen our understanding of the natural world. Our Geography focus will take us closer to home, as we carry out fieldwork in our local area to explore how land is used in different ways.

We will also begin our Swimming lessons this term, working towards the important goal of achieving 25 metres. We are excited to visit the local Library, to encourage a love of reading and stories. Finally, as part of our class worship, we will celebrate and learn about Harvest together.

This is just a snap shot of what lies ahead!

Please take a look at the documents below so you can find out more about what we will be learning.

If you have any questions at all - please do ask!

This half term as part of our science we have been learning all about rocks such as sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. We have been discussing their uses as well as their properties. We tested the rocks to see if they are permeable.
