Spring Term message from Mrs Cropper:
Welcome back to an Exciting Spring Term!
Happy New Year! We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable break, filled with special moments with family and friends. As we step into the Spring term, we have some wonderful opportunities and activities planned, some of these include:
**Let’s Go Sing Performance** – A joyful celebration of music and community spirit! The children have been working hard and we cannot wait to see them shine on stage.
We also want to take this opportunity to remind families about the importance of regular reading. Reading at least **three times a week** is a wonderful way to develop essential skills, spark imagination and build a lifelong love for books. Please support your child by carving out time for reading and encouraging them to explore a variety of stories and topics.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at the door from 8:45am or by leaving a message at the office.
Best wishes,
Mrs Cropper

Preston Trip
year5 teacher (S.Cropper) on: Year 5 Blog
Year 5 visited Preston to collect some data as part of their Geography learning. We were looking at traffic, footfall and buildings to determine what evidence there was for Preston being a city. The children had great fun on the train ride and walking around Preston! A local church opened its doors for us to shelter from the cold and eat our lunch! We all had a great time. Well done Year 5!
Yoda Origami in English
year5 teacher (S.Cropper) on: Year 5 Blog
This week Year 5 have been writing instructions on how to create an origami Yoda! We used iPads to record our instructions and made our own Yodas in the process.
Science Fun!

We have been learning about forces and investigated the effect that friction has on different types. Thank you to those that came in with their bikes allowing us to complete our experiment.
BAE Rocket Workshop
year5 teacher (S.Cropper) on: Year 5 Blog
Year 5 had great fun with a stomp rocket workshop, hosted by the BAE Systems STEM Team. Children designed their own rocket, predicted its trajectory and watched forces in action as they flew across the playground!
Exciting Day at the Liverpool World Museum!
year5 teacher (S.Cropper) on: Year 5 Blog
Wow! What an awesome day Year 5 had at the Liverpool World Museum. They got to explore different artefacts, but the highlight was when they got their hands on some Ancient Greek pieces!
