COURAGEOUS ADVOCATES
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9
A big WELL DONE to Alfie (Y5) & Millie (Y6) who came up with the idea to hold a sweet and chocolate raffle at their Mum’s work. They have raised an amazing amount of money! They raised over £200 pounds for our School Funds and also raised money towards a cancer charity. WELL DONE – brilliant work!
Musical fundraiser
Our Year 6 pupils were very concerned when they heard about the damage being done to the habiatas of polar animals as part of their 'Frozen Kingdoms' project in school. They wanted to do something practical to help.
Some of our musicians decided to 'sell' time on the drum kit and keyboard to other pupils and staff. They gave lessons to others during their lunchtimes and breaks and managed to raise almost £90 to go to the work of the WWF, to help the work with Polar Animals. What a brilliant idea!
Mobility Issue and solution
Some of our families were struggling to cross the road near our lollipop crossing as the kerb was dropped at only one side. This meant that if a person with a pram, buggy or wheelchair was needing to cross they may be able to get down at one side, but couldnt get back up at the other.
Our school council wrote to the local councillor, then met with her and the Lancashire County Councillor to explain the dificulties and campaigned for a better crossing place.
They were delighted when this made a difference and the dropped kerb was put in place - they did it!
