SPECIAL DAYS AND CELEBRATIONS
We love celebrating special days that bring our school community together and enrich our learning experience. These occasions create wonderful opportunities for fun, creativity, and building lasting memories. From traditional celebrations to exciting themed events, our special days inspire, educate, and connect us.
Remembrance
Our Year 6 class walk to the local cenotaph and take part in the Armistice Day Service in Ashton Gardens, along with the Mayor, members of the local community, and a number of other local schools. Our Year 6 children learn about the two World Wars in their History lessons, so they have a particular understanding of this sombre service.
Odd Socks Day
As part of Anti-Bullying Week we all took part in Odd Socks Day. This fun and meaningful day reminds us that being different is something to celebrate! By wearing odd socks, we show our commitment to kindness, acceptance, and celebrating what makes each of us unique.
Lunar New Year
Our Reception children have been exploring the vibrant traditions of Lunar New Year through a rich and exciting cross-curricular learning journey. They’ve enjoyed storytelling, music, and dance, while discovering the importance of family, culture, and new beginnings. The children learnt the story of The Great Race, tasted traditional foods and immersed themselves in the celebrations.
St. Annes Carnival Parade
The whole school came together to celebrate with the exciting theme of Movie Magic. Children dressed up as their favourite film characters, bringing colour, creativity, and plenty of sparkle to the parade. Under the hot summer sun, the atmosphere was full of fun, laughter, and community spirit. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our school’s imagination and togetherness.
