SPECIAL DAYS AND CELEBRATIONS
We love celebrating special days that bring our school community together and enrich our learning experience. These occasions create wonderful opportunities for fun, creativity, and building lasting memories. From traditional celebrations to exciting themed events, our special days inspire, educate, and connect us.
Remembrance
Our Year 6 lead our school Remembrance Day worship in school. They also walk to the local cenotaph and take part in the Armistice Day Service in Ashton Gardens, along with the Mayor, members of the local community, and a number of other local schools. Our Year 6 children learn about the two World Wars in their History lessons, so they have a particular understanding of this sombre service.
Odd Socks Day
As part of Anti-Bullying Week we take part in Odd Socks Day. This fun and meaningful day reminds us that being different is something to celebrate! By wearing odd socks, we show our commitment to understadning that we are all different and unique and how kindness, acceptance, and celebrating what makes each of us different is SO important.
Lunar New Year
Our Reception children learn about the vibrant traditions of Lunar New Year through a rich and exciting cross-curricular learning journey. They enjoy storytelling, music, and dance, whilst discovering the importance of family, culture, and new beginnings. The children learn the story of The Great Race, taste traditional foods and immerse themselves in the celebrations.
St. Annes Carnival Parade
The whole school came together to celebrate with the exciting theme of Movie Magic. Children dressed up as their favourite film characters, bringing colour, creativity, and plenty of sparkle to the parade. Under the hot summer sun, the atmosphere was full of fun, laughter, and community spirit. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our school’s imagination and togetherness.
