Summer Term message from Mrs Cropper:
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the Summer Term. We are looking forward to another busy and exciting term with Year 5. This term, our history learning will focus on the Ancient Greeks. Children will explore key periods and ideas including the Minoans, Mycenaeans, the Greek Dark Ages, the development of democracy and the importance of city states. Through this topic, pupils will build their understanding of how Ancient Greece has influenced the world we live in today.
During the first part of the Summer Term, the children will also be taking part in Forest School sessions on either a Monday or Wednesday. Please make sure wellies are in school for these sessions. We are also very excited about our upcoming trip to Liverpool Museum, which will support and enrich the children’s learning. More information about the visit will be sent home closer to the date.
Thank you for your continued support. I am very much looking forward to another wonderful term of learning and achievements with Year 5.
If you have any questions or need to have a chat about your child, am available at the door most mornings or please email the office and they will ensure I get the message.
Best wishes,
Mrs Cropper

Kevork Mourad Monotypes Art work
Posted: Feb 28, 2026 by: S Cropper (S.Cropper) on: Year 5 Blog
Over the last few weeks Year 5 have created their own visual poetry zines based around the theme 'The Lost Thing'. After exploring colour, collaging and painting, children finished their zines by using the monotype process of transferring ink . Everyone created such incredible, unique pieces.
