Spring Term message from Mr Swift:
Welcome Back!
We are excited to welcome Year 6 into the spring term in which we are, as always, incredibly busy!
This term, we have lots to look forward to, including both theoretical and practical First Aid sessions, environmental art studies, bridge building, game designing, team activities and lots more. Children will have to opportunity to create their own individual environmental art pieces and work collaboratively to create a team piece whilst visiting the beach. Our Frozen Kingdoms Topic will cover the current state of the planet, it's potential future and the impact we have as a civilisation. We will also explore some of the past pioneers who braved the conditions to take on epic journeys and make incredible discoveries. In the role of an engineer, children will have the opportunity to research, design, test, build and evaluate their own bridges to see which structures provide the best support. We will also be preparing for our Easter service in church, giving the children opportunities to reflect, rehearse, and perform together.

In Year 6 we have examined the impact of plastic pollution and the consequences this has upon our planet. We have examined the work of different artists and how their pieces have brought about public awareness plastic pollution. We used recyclable materials to create our own pieces to raise awareness and encourage others to think about plastic pollution in our oceans.
